Na lang actievoeren door verschillende organisaties en belangengroepen zijn op 31 mei 2022 twee belangrijke nieuwe wetsvoorstellen aangenomen op het gebied van staatloosheid. Hiermee heeft de Tweede Kamer een belangrijke stap gezet om de situatie van staatlozen en staatloze kinderen in Nederland te verbeteren.
Om de positie van staatlozen echt te verbeteren, zullen er nog een aantal stappen moeten worden gezet. Om samen met belanghebbende, maatschappelijke organisaties en juridische experts stil te staan bij de behaalde successen en de nog te nemen stappen, organiseert ASKV en het Institute on Statelessness and Inclusion (ISI) deze bijeenkomst 23 november.

After many years of campaigning by various organizations and interest groups, two crucial bills on Statelessness were passed on May 31, 2022. With this, the House of Representatives has taken an important step to improve the situation of stateless people and stateless children in the Netherlands.
To truly improve the position of stateless people, a number of further steps will need to be taken. Therefore, to reflect with affected persons, civil society organizations, and legal experts on the successes and steps still to be taken, ASKV and the Institute on Statelessness and Inclusion (ISI) organized the event “Statelessness in the Netherlands: looking back and looking forward” on November 23.
